It's the simplest way to have sudoku grids on paper without a screen: in a waiting room, in a classroom, on a trip, or simply for anyone who prefers pen and paper to a keyboard.
Save as PDF from your browser
The "🖨️ Print / PDF" button opens your browser's print dialog. The idea is the same everywhere: pick a virtual "printer" that saves a PDF file instead of printing on paper.
- Chrome / Edge: in the print window, change the destination to "Save as PDF", then click Save.
- Firefox: same idea — choose "Save to PDF" as the printer before confirming.
- Safari (Mac, iPhone, iPad): in the print dialog, open the PDF menu at the bottom left and select "Save as PDF".
Choose A4 (or Letter) in Portrait orientation, and turn off the headers and footers your browser adds (date, page title…) for a clean result on paper and in the PDF alike.
Which layout should you choose?
- 1 grid per page — the largest digits, for maximum reading comfort. The best choice for seniors, people with low vision, or for pencilling in candidates inside the cells.
- 2 grids per page — the best balance between readability and paper saved. The recommended setting for everyday use.
- 4 grids per page — to take several sudoku grids with you at once (travel, waiting rooms) while using fewer sheets.
Print the solutions too
The "Show solution" setting generates the same grids already filled in. A simple trick to keep the answers handy: print your blank grids first, then turn this setting on and print the same pages again — on the back of the sheet, or on a separate page to slide behind it.
Sudoku for kids: play online
The classic 9×9 format isn't right for younger kids? Sudoku-Land also offers simpler formats, free and with no sign-up: Kids Sudoku (4×4) from age 5, then Junior Sudoku (6×6) to build on from there.
